LMX8410L: LMX8410L LO frequency question

Hi Team,

As shown in the following figure, when the LMX8410L LO frequency is set to 11.75GHz, the IF I/Q port outputs normally, but why does the LO frequency in the GUI Mixer get a red alert message?

Hi Bo,

Although the synthesizer can support 11.75GHz (it can support up to 15GHz), but the LO port can only support up to 10GHz.

1. Why does the IF Port output in internal LO mode even if LO frequency is set at 11.75GHz?
Are there any relevant measurements to refer to?
2. operation In External LO mode, will LO port LO within the LMX8410L be used? Can LO frequency operate at 11.75GHz?

Hi Bo,

The mixer is specified to support a max. of 10GHz at both RF and LO port.

No matter if the LO is given externally or using the internal synthesizer, LO frequency has to be restricted to no higher than 10GHz.
