Support in GC5325SEK required

I am using GC5325SEK for performance evaluation of DPD. But I am not able to load EVM.
I am using Signal TM1_600k_IF0_Fup61.44_0110_gc5325.mat

My Signal is loaded successfully. But DLL is still Unlocked.

It gives error "Timeout occured"

The LED of PLL Unlock is still Red., and Tx0_fail is ON.

the end of CMD screen is as follows:

cmd_str =

tftp -i 192.168.1.123 put control_off /tmp/control

Timeout occurred

Warning: command error.

  • Hello,

The GC5325 SEK has a network control for the TSW3100, and a USB control for the GC5325SEK board.  You need to make sure that the USB to network adapter, is properly installed, and you don't have a corporate firewall blocking the TCPIP TFTP communication on port 192.168.1.123.  Please review the User Guide for installation of the USB to network driver and the USB to FTDI.

There is a difference for the TSW3100 data download between a PING and downloading data.  If the PING request works, the network driver, and connectivity are OK.  If the PING works and the data download fails, this is usually caused by a corporate firewall blocking the data transfer requests on the network.  In this case the address 192.168.1.123, and 192.168.1.n (where n is your PC host address) have to be excluded from the firewall.

The DLL unlock is normally a process of the USB / FTDI driver not  programming the GC5325 hardware.  This can also be a switch settings on the GC5325 board, which should be detailed in the User Guide.

If you have an older GC5325 board (older than 6 months) a firmware upgrade may be needed, contact Ken Chan (kenchan@ti.com) to get a software control, and GC5325

    FPGA code update.

  • Thanks a lot for the above useful info. I think i have an older version of the software. I have written to Mr. Ken C, but I am yet to get reply from him.

  • Thank you for this information. It has been quite usefull for me.

ps. I would propose you have this firewall warning included in the user manual of this kit. It would save us all quite some time!

    Regards,

    Faisal
