AFE7950: LMFS Configuration for 6 RX Channels Using AFE7950

Part Number: AFE7950

Tool/software:

Hi, I have 6 RX paths in my design. According to the AFE7950 datasheet, the device supports 4 RX ADCs and 2 Feedback ADCs. If I configure the 2 Feedback ADCs to operate as standard ADCs, giving me a total of 6 RX channels, what would be the appropriate LMFS configuration assuming I use 8 JESD lanes (L = 8)?

And how to configure AFE for this mode in Latte.

  • Hi Keerthana,

Are the Rx and FB channels using the same decimation factor? If they are then typically we would use one of two configurations

    1. For widerbandidth modes use 6 lanes. (On the Rx side use a LMFS of 48410 and on the FB side use 24410)
    2. For narrow bandwidth modes use 3 lanes. (On the Rx side use a LMFS of 28810 and on the FB use 14810)

If you can share more info on your AFE configuration I can provide more advice.

    Regards,

    David Chaparro
