Tool/software:
I am using the LMX8410L on a custom board. I ensured the power supply voltages suggested in the datasheet and verified that the SPI telegrams are reaching the device. I also tried changing the chip to confirm that it had not been damaged, but the behavior remains the same.
I measured the chip's VTune pin, and it responds with a pulse when it should be set to a fixed value. The LMX8410L is not initializing correctly.
I am designing it for a LO frequency of 7.5GHz, using the internal LO. I followed the instructions in the datasheet to program all the registers in descending order. However, there are some that are not described in the datasheet, and it suggests that I extract them from TICS Pro, but in TICS Pro these registers are also omitted (R119, R105, R104, R92, R91, R90, R89, R45, R20).
The datasheet mentions that RESET refers to “Recommended” State, and not to Reset as such. Should the registers be programmed to that value? And if so, TICS Pro does not program them this way.
What is the correct way to initialize this device?
Thank you for your attention.
