AFE7950: ADC Sampling Rate

Part Number: AFE7950
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSW14J57EVM

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have integrated AFE7950EVM with TSW14J57EVM and using latte and HSDC pro for the same.

I want to change the sampling rate of ADC (where it is already 2949.12 MSPS). In the latte script I tried to change it but an error showing "unsupported combination of sampling and interface rates" is coming. In the datasheet as well i have come across a few tables where decimation rates are provided for different sampling rates. After changing the values in the script according to those tables, that error is still persistent.

Please suggest a method to change the sampling rate and to calculate all dependent parameters which also has to be changed in the script.

Thanks

  • Hi YS,

Can you please share the specific combination that is failing?

In regard to choosing a supported decimation/interpolation factor, in the datasheet we give a list of the decimation/interpolation factors that are supported for different sample rates. Frequencies in this table can be scaled down as long as you don’t go below the minimum interface rate, 62.5Msps. For example, DAC sample rate of 12000 MSPS with interpolation factor 24 as given in the table which results in 500MSPS input rate. If DAC sample rate is reduced to 11400 MSPS with the same interpolation factor of 24, input rate would reduce to 475 MSPS. This is a valid combination.
