Question for GC5018 set up.

Guru 19655 points

Isn't there any application note more detailed than the data sheet(21 page) about a decimation setup of GC5018?

Although the customer is going to set up 16 decimation (5Msps), it is requested that it will be saved if there is a reference value of CFIR and PFIR.

As long as there is nothing that matched, the information that specification is near may be sufficient.

Thank you for your consideration.

  • Hello,

Normally, the GC5018 is programmed using the GC Studio software which has a GUI representation of the blocks, and a user guide.

At the end of the register programming, there is a set of sequenced register writes which change the SSEL and One shoft registers which synchronizes the Front End Block, the Digital Down Converter, and the Output Block.

The GC Studio software tool runs on Windows 2000, Xp English computers.   In the user guide, if the hardware GC101+GC5018 EVM is not present, you can check the green HW connect box before running the GUI to register program software.  The computer will have a project folder with a  projectname.gc101 file.  The .GC101 file has the register programming, and at the end the syncrhonization sequence.

The GC Studio software has AFE8406 examples for UMTS mode, and CDMA mode, that has the same programming as the GC5018.  Contact kenchan@ti.com about obtaining the TI GC Studio software, with a software license agreement.
