GC Studio for windows 7 64bit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS4249

Hello,

Is there a separate 64 bit version for gc studio? I've bought  a gc5016 eval board kit but the cd that came along with it is showing issues while installing it in my win 7 64x system.

Thanks,

Rohit

  • Hi Rohit,

We do not have a 64 bit version of GC Studio.  It only works for 32 bit XP OS.

Also the GC5016 is Not Recommended for New Designs, it is still available for rebuilds of existing designs - I wanted to make this clear before you dedicated too much time to the evaluation of this device.

  • Thank you Ken, do you have any alternative cards that I can use instead of the GC5016 for down converting applications from the S band frequencies?

  • Rohit,

Unfortunately there are no new developments in stand alone DDC/DUC products from TI.  Most of that functionality is being integrated into processor ASICs and FPGAs.

For s-band down conversion we do have some RF mixers with ADC that can be used to down-convert and the sample the RF spectrum.  You could then use an FPGA to do the DDC function.  Once such board that may work is the TSW1265 and you can look at this TSW1400 FPGA appnote to see how you can interface an FPGA to the ADS4249 ADC that is on the TSW1265.
