LMX2541 RFoutEN

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2541, CODELOADER

Hi,

I'm looking for some timing diagrams for LMX2541 power on/off using RFoutEN pin. What are the raise/fall times (lag) of the output RF carrier with relation to RFoutEN signal.

I wanted to generate 400ns RF pulses at 2.4GHz with 50% duty cycle, would I be able to do this using RFoutEN pin?

thanks,

serguei

  • Hi

Have you already found an answer by yourself? Or could a TI employee please deliver an opinion?

I would like to generate 500ns RF pulses at 1.09 GHz. The signal is going to be filtered by a filter with a bandwidth of about 6 MHz, so the rise and fall timing is not very important. I’m wondering if it is basically possible to en/disable the RF signal with frequencies around 1 MHz?

    Best regards

    Christian

  • Christian,

I have not been able to measure it yet. But the way this TI e2e service works - I'll have to do it myself it seems. The most primitive thing to do is to use the CodeLoader to generate the pulses but I found it hard to control the rate as it is based on uP cycles. In order to measure pulse response on the evaluation board one needs to get an access to RFoutEn pin and connect it to the function generator.

I wish the TI had some diagrams though.

  • One more thing I forgot to mention - the ON/OFF power ratio is only around 30dB
