GC5016 Wideband Transceiver

Hello,

I am starting a new back-haul design for point to point microwave.  Can the GC5016 be used to

support DDC and DUC transceiver with a 40Mhz symbol rate?  How many PFIR filter taps can I get?

Can I use the cmd5016 tool to setup the programming file for my embedded controller?

Thanks,

RadioJoe

  • Hi,

The GC5016 can be setup to have a 1Transmit, 1 Receive splitIQ configuration, with an interpolation/

decimation of 4.  The GC5016 would be clocked at 160Msps.  Depending on the desired stopband rejection the configuration can have PFIR ratio 2, CIC ratio 2, where the PFIR has 127 symmetric taps.  If more close in stopband rejection is desired, the PFIR can have 64 non symmetric taps, with a PFIR ratio of 4.

Note: The PFIR ratio of 2, CIC ratio of 2, has a limited stop band rejection, due to the CIC filter rolloff.

The cmd5016 tool (under the GC5016 web page) can be used to program the device.  There is a .gc101 and a .h file output format, that can be used to program the GC5016 with embedded systems.

    Thanks for asking,

    RadioJoe
