TRF37T05 / Power Output Disable Feature for TDD

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRF37T05, TRF3705

Hi,

I comprehend TRF37T05 is IQ Modulator for TDD.

However,I could not find the difference between TRF3705 and TRF37T05 in their data sheet.

Please tell me their performance comparison.

Best Regards,

Kato

  • Hi,

I haven't got your answer yet.

Could you advise me about the TDD characteristic of TRF37T05? (TDD:Time Division Duplex)

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards,

    kato

  • Kato-san,

The TRF37T05 is optimized for TDD application where the device can be powered down to save power during transmission off time. With power down mode enabled, the TRF37T05 only has a fraction of chip powered down (while the TRF3705 has the whole chip powered down). The partial power down allow less temperature change in TRF37T05 and better adjusted carrier feedthrough reponse which is need in TDD application.

The TRF37T05's power down current is 146mA, while the TRF3705's power down current is 35mA.

For TDD carrier feedthrough transient response performance of the TRF37T05, please refer to the following app note:

    http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slwa074

If the application is not TDD and does not require good carrier feedthrough response over TDD switching, then TRF3705 and TRF37T05 have the same performance in general and can be used interchangeably.
