How can I develop a PFIR coeffiicient file without Matlab GUI software package ?

hi

I am using the GC5016 in DDC mode, can I develop a PFIR coeffiicient file for  a special application without  Matlab GUI software package shipped with TSW4100 ?

Thanks

  • Hello,

The GC5016 TSW4100 digital repeater has specialized software in Matlab to generate the PFIR coefficients, to optimize the delay.  The GC5016 can be programmed without

the TSW4100 software, through following the datasheet and the GC5016 Configuration Guide. (ZIP 823 KB ) (at the bottom of the TI GC5016 web page).

There are several tools that can be used to design low pass, and pulse shaping filters used with the GC5016.

    a) using the configuration guide, you would select the Clock rate to output complex rate = decimation.

    b) you would design the stage decimation for decimation / 2, or decimation / 3, or decimation / 4 for the cic_dec

    c) you would set the pfir_dec to 2, 3, 4 from (b) above

    d) following one of the standard configurations in the GC5016 Configuration guide, you would set the channel decimation, and use a 1 tap PFIR, with a value of 32767.

    e) you would run the cmd5016 software with the configuration guide, using the .ANL file, you would select the number of PFIR taps allowed from the report.

    f) you would use Matlab, ScopeFIR, or another tool to generate a low pass or pulse shaping filter with (e) number of taps - 2.

    g) you would convolve the (f) filter taps with -.15,1,-.15 has the High Pass filter used for CIC correction.  (note this correction can be optimized, but this is a good starting value)
