Hi TI expert

Please recommend some products that could be used to detect very narrow RF pulses?
100-500 ps wide?
Frequency range 3-12 GHz
Sensitivity not too critical as the pulses are high power.

The highest frequency rated power detector is the LMH2110. It is rated up to 8 GHz. If you are working with high signals only without the need to use the full dynamic range, it is possible the device will be suitable up to 12 GHz.

Hi RJH

This is a very nice log amp, but it has a slow response time: 2.2 us. I am looking for something that can detect a pulsewidth between 500 ps and 1 ns. The risetime will need to be 50-75 ps?

Acknowledged. The actual fastest response detector is our portfolio is the LMH2121. Its rated rise time is 165 ns...still not quite fast enough for your application. It is rated to 3 GHz and would be ~20 dB down by 12 GHz, but perhaps usable with high input powers.
