IWR6843ISK: What is the meaning of point cloud's 'Target Index" from the sensor

Hello,

I want to know what the value "Target Index" sent from the sensor is. My guess is that it's the index of the target to which a point cloud belongs, is that correct?

If so, what happens when a point cloud isn't associated with any targets?

Hello Danh,

Please see the following document for information on the target index TLV for 3D people counting.

The target index is indeed the index of the target that point is associated to. If it is not associated, it will have an index of 254 or 255, for unassociated or out of the boundary box.

Hi Jackson, thank you for your clarification.

But there is another problem when I read the data, the number of point clouds is different from the number of target index (should it be the same based on your explanation). Can you help me clarify this as well?

I am using data from the fall detection visualizer demo.

Hello Danh,

Does the number match up to the previous frame point cloud? Due to the processing, the tracker data is sent out one frame after the pointcloud data for that target.
