AWR1843BOOST: Calibration with "measureRangeBiasAndRxChanPhase", negative value for <rangeBias>

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST

Hi,

I have a question regarding the calibration of the antenna using "measureRangeBiasAndRxChanPhase" CLI command.

I successfully did calibration and got some values for<rangeBias> and <Re(0,0)> <Im(0,0)> ... <Im(T-1,R-1)>. My question is specifically about the value <rangeBias>. We obtained a negative value for <rangeBias> of our antenna based on calibration. When I enter this number to the .cfg file in front of compRangeBiasAndRxChanPhase CLI command, It does not return any detected object.

I did some tests with TI AWR1843BOOST radar and mm Demo Visualizer with the default setting to check the effect of different <rangeBias> values. For that, I save the default .cfg file. Then, I only change <rangeBias> in the .cfg file and reload it into the board. For all positive <rangeBias> values, we can still detect points. However, for negative values less than -0.06, no point is detected, although we can see a sharp pick in the (Relative Power)/(Range) plot when we expect to detect the objects. Please enclosed find the picture of the test result when is pointed to the same stationary side with three different settings for <rangeBias> to 0, 0.1, and -0.1. Would you please help us to understand what is the problem?

Thanks

Amir

<rangeBias> = -0.1

<rangeBias> = 0.0

<rangeBias> = 0.1
