You can refer Medium range radar application (lab007) which implements MIMO configuration.

Developer's guide lists the MIMO configuration for USRR.

Hello Wajih,

MIMO concepts can be implemented with AWR device when using 2 or more Tx to enable in alternate manner to get more virtual antenna.

Lab4L obstacle detection uses MIMO mode only.

If you refer ods_default_config.cfg

chirpCfg 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1
chirpCfg 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 2
frameCfg 0 1 32 0 100 1 0

Frame configuration is build here to contain two type of chirps where 1st chirp uses TX0 and 2nd Chirps uses TX1 to transmit signal.

This two set of chirps are repeated 32 times in a frame.

Thanks Jitendra for you explanation, though I want to make sure so you're telling me that the third transmitter in the AWR1843 is not used at all ? in that case is it possible to add a third chirp and exploit that TX3 ( because 1st and second chirp are being sent via TX1 and TX2) ? 

Thanks Jitendra for your response, one last question why did you halve the number of loops from 32 to 16 when we added a third chirp ? 

You can have any no. of loops but to accommodate you need to have frame periodicity as well.

So I was trying to keep the same duty cycle in the frame.

But you need to calculate total chirp time: single-chirp-duration (connected profile rampEndTime+Idle time) * no. of chirps (0-2 : total 3 chirps and 16 numOfLoop , so total chirp: 3*16), this value should be less than frame periodicity.

And you should have max 50% duty cycle to provide time device to cool down during frame idle time.
