Part Number: MMWCAS-DSP-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243, , TDA2, AWR1243

Hello team,

Customer had buy one set of MMWCAS-DSP-EVM. with AWR2243 cascade RF board.

But during the test, customer had sucessful burn the SD card with the correct image( vision sdk radar-3.8 pre-build image).

But during the test, they will fail 9 times at 10 times boot.

Also, i had help customer fix several EVM HW bug.

Question. what's the issue while the board have below log information?

And, is the board do the test before ship it out?

Thanks.

  • Hi,

Is the customer using the image provided

    mmWaveStudio\PlatformBinaries\TDA2Firmware\sdimage_3_7_1.img.xz

    Thank you

    Cesar

  • Hello Wesley,

Radar-SDK or Vision-SDK currently doesn't support AWR2243 at the software level.

You need to use different firmware image (xwr22xx_metaImage) directly from the mmWave DFP package.

Details about the initial set up process is a part of our mmWave_studio_cascade_user_guide.pdf.

    MMWAVE-STUDIO-2G_03.00.00.14 | TI.com

Please make sure you follow the user guide closely and download the correct TDA2 firmware as mentioned by Cesar above.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Hi Ishita,

As i mentioned above, i had help customer solved several HW bug, multiple resistance is not correct on the evm.

    That's not the SW issue.

    Thanks.

  • Here's the HW error log from customer. while boot 10 times. 9 have this error. but 1 works. so the SW should be correct.

    Putting MPU in Retention...

  • Hello Wesley,

The TDA2 board belong to the processors team and hence I'm afraid I won't be able to understand much info from this log. But as I mentioned above, one first needs to make sure that the correct firmwares are used.

Radar-SDK or Vision-SDK currently doesn't support AWR2243 but only AWR1243 at the moment, so it might be possible that a different/false image is being loaded. And I can see a message from your log also, saying "Valid App Image is not Available".

Could you please check on the correct FW versions once again?

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Hi Ishita,

    Customer had try ""C:\ti\mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\mmWaveStudio\PlatformBinaries\TDA2Firmware\sdimage_3_7_1.img.xz""

but the result is same. sometimes, it works, sometimes it cannot boot successful.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thanks.

    Regards.

    Wesley

  • Hi Wesley, Can you please share the complete log on serial port of TDA board? Regards Abhed
