OPT3001-Q1: do we need to concern the thermal temperature compensation in software

Part Number: OPT3001-Q1

Hi

I would like to ask that for the Ambient light sensor, do we need to concern the thermal temperature compensation in software?  The ALS install position is on the bottom of the TFT, which is  close to the Source driver and FPC wire harness.

  • Hi,

Please refer to Measurement drift across temperature spec in datasheet (0.01%/degC) as well as Figure 12/13 Normalized Response vs Temperature. This should give an idea of expected device variation and you can determine change based on the temperature range in your application. You can see device stability over temperature is good so usually this is not needed. We may also want to check the dark response over temp, at high temps the device will have some small dark response.

    Best,

    Alex
