OPT3001-Q1: Does its algorithm include thermal compensation consideration

I would like to ask that does its algorithm or calculation has considered the thermal compensation or temperature factor? Or the calculation in datasheet just considered ambient temperature?

For the Ambient light sensor, do we need to concern the thermal temperature compensation in software? The ALS install position is on the bottom of the TFT, which is close to the Source driver and FPC wire harness.

Device has thermal compensation built in so no extra steps are needed here.

Thank you. That is to say, considering the compensation of temperature to brightness, how to convert it? How to express the effect of temperature on brightness in the algorithm, customer would like to know the detailed conversion method between temperature and brightness, could you please provide some formula or explanation? After your suggestions I have told customer to refer to the Measurement drift across temperature spec in datasheet (0.01%/degC) as well as Figure 12/13 Normalized Response vs Temperature. So need a little bit more explanations about the mathematical relationship between temperature and brightness, thanks a lot

Hi Zirui,

Typical spec for temp gives this. For example 0.01%/degC * 10 degree temp change = 0.1% change. This means for example, if lux level is 1000 lux at 25C and temp changes to 35C then typically we would expect it to change by 1000*0.001 = 1 lux
