TMP103: The difference on -A to -H

Part Number: TMP103

Hello support team,

Is the I2C address only difference between -A to -H? What does "Temperature zone" on table.2 mean? Temperature zone does not mean any functions on TMP103?

Thanks,

Koji Ikeda

  • Hi Ikeda-San,

    Thank you for your question.

You are correct that the only difference is the I2C address. "Temperature zone" in this case is just how the datasheet author chose to describe the idea of having multiple temperature sensors in different locations, or "zones" of a system design. Temperature zone does not refer to any unique feature on the TMP103.

The TMP103 does however support multi-device access (see section 7.5.14 of the datasheet), which can be used if multiple TMP103 versions are on the same bus. This can make I2C communication with multiple devices much more efficient, and makes the TMP103 especially suited for system designs with multiple temperature areas to be monitored.
