MMWCAS-RF-EVM: What frequency to use?

Hi Radar experets:

Since most cases we use less than 1GHz of bandwidth for the radar, I'm wondering the pros and cons of using around 77GHz vs 81GHz, i.e. the lower band or the upper band of the available range.

Hello Li,

You could use any 1GHz and between 77GHz to 81GHz, Larger bandwidth >1GHz improves the range resolution you could consider going for higher than 1GHz bandwidth for your application if that is applicable.

However, if you must use 1GHz bandwidth only, then at 81GHz antenna gain drops hence it may be better to use the lower frequency to get the best performance out the the Antenna.
