IWR6843ISK: sync two IWR6843ISK Sensor board

Dear TI.

I would like to know if there is a way to connect two IWR6843ISK sensor & DCA1000 pairs and use them in sync.
Please guide me on the HW method to synchronize two sensors (the HW sync port exists so that the two sensors can be connected) or the SW method (there is a slot for sync and how to use different slots). .
We want to detect an object using data separately sensed by two sensors.

Hello User,

If you are looking for the frame level synchronization of the two setups then you can synchronize the two devices using digital SYNC_IN signal and setting the frames to hardware triggered mode. This will ensure the frames of both the devices are time synchronized to the same signal.

I would also like to know the SW method.
When detecting radar signals, I would like to know how to avoid signals sent from other sensors that are not physically connected and to process only the signals sent by me (SW synchronization method)

thank you for answering.

I would like to know whether the "sensing and avoidance" scheme in the document is basically applied to the out of box example provided by TI.
I tested the interference phenomenon of multi sensors using the supplied IWR6843 EVkit and out of box example code, but it was difficult to check the interference phenomenon.
If there is a way to check whether it is applied or not, please let me know.

Hello Youngjoon,

Thanks for reviewing the material.

"Sense and avoid" scheme in the document is illustration of how the interference can be detected and mitigated. It's not used in the out of box demo. Typically FMCW scheme are resilient for interference, even during the interference it's hard to detect as it would affect only a fraction of bandwidth and disturb only few ADC samples.

However, for detection and mitigation you could refer to the below lab from the mmWave TI resource explorer developed for 77GHz sensors. Similar methodology applicable for the 60GHz sensor as well.
