Dear Expert

Good day!

Our customer want to confirm the OPT3006 layout issue.

In the EVM module firstly component OPT3006 has been mounted on FPCB and then on PCB.


If I see data sheet of the OPT3006 there is FPCB layout recommendation only. Can we mount the component on PCB directly ? is that possible? do we have both the choices in either way?

    Hi Leon,

    OPT3006 mounted on rigid PCB of standard thickness is not a good idea because the cutout will act like a tunnel and performance will not be good. You can see this using our FOV simulator tool on OPT3006 page online. OPT3004 would give best performance on a rigid PCB.
