I am trying to use UniFlash to flash srrdemo_16xx.bin file onto the AWR1642 BOOST ODS device according to the instructions mentioned in the SRR User's guide in dev.ti.com. However, the process hangs at "Opening COM port COM5.." (attaching a screen shot of it to this message). Can someone help me diagnose and fix this issue? Thanks

  • Hi,

This issue typically means that the com port is busy/being held by another program.

A few things you can try:

    • Ensure com port is correct
    • Ensure you have an up-to-date version of uniflash
    • Ensure that all programs such as terminals are closed/not using this com port
    • Remove power from the device, then plug it back in to try to force all programs to give up the com port
    • Restart pc and try again immediately after restarting to ensure no programs are holding this com port

    Best Regards,
    Alec
