TMP175: What is the data when a data is read out from Address "0F"?

Part Number: TMP175
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP1075

 Hello guys,

One of our customers is considering using TMP175 instead of TMP1075 for their new product because TMP1075 is sold out in the market.

But they want to use TMP1075 when TMP1075 is stock in the market.

In the result, the both devices, TMP1075 and 175 are used for the product.

They are planning to implement a program to know which device is used for each product by TMP1075 device ID reading.

They know 75xxh is read out as TMP1075 ID from Address "0Fh". At this moment, they have the following question. Could you please give me your reply?

 Q. What is the data when a data is read out from Address "0F" of TMP175? Is it "0000h"?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

 Best regards,

 Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

    Thank you for your question.

The TMP175 will ACK the address byte, and NAK the pointer byte if they try to point to register 0x0F. If they would like, they could use this NAK to determine if a TMP175 or TMP1075 is connected.

    Best Regards,
