LM95214: Read and write from MMC registers - LM95214

Hi,

I have two questions about LM95214. 
Since LM95214:s MMC writes to 0x30 DIODE_SEL and reads from 0x38 DIODE_STAT:

  • What is the effect of writing to the register 0x30?
  • If I read from the register 0x38 what be returned?

    Hi Kris, 

    Thank you for your questions.

    The LM95214 does not have access to the Diode Model Select and the Diode Model Status registers that the LM95234 has, and as such, it is not recommended to read or write to these registers. 

    This is an older part from 2006 that I do not currently have a bench setup for, so I cannot say at the moment how this device will respond, but I have requested some of these parts to perform a check for you, and will update this thread once that is completed. That said, the LM95214 will most likely respond with either a NAK after the receiving of the register pointer, or will return garbage data on a read of these registers.
