MMWCAS-RF-EVM: ar1.DownloadBSSFw_mult vs ar1.DownloadBssFwOvSPI_mult

Hello Champs,

Can I use mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\mmWaveStudio\Scripts\Cascade\Cascade_Flashing_example.lua to flash firmware to QSPI?

In the Cascade_Flashing_example.lua, what's the function of ar1.DownloadBSSFw_mult? Does it download firmware to AWR2243 chip or to external QSPI flash?

What's the difference between ar1.DownloadBSSFw_mult and ar1.DownloadBssFwOvSPI_mult?

Thanks.

  • Hi,

It downloads the fw to AWR2243 chip memory.

I think that "ar1.DownloadBSSFw_mult" is an older command and "ar1.DownloadBssFwOvSPI_mult" is a newer command.

Both commands should result in the same function

Let me confirm with mmWave Studio Team

    thank you

    Cesar

  • Hi,

    Here is some additional information

ar1.DownloadBSSFw_mult is used to download firmware over RS232 in SOP2 mode. This doesn’t check if SPI is connected or not.

ar1.DownloadBssFwOvSPI_mult is used to download firmware over SPI in SOP4 mode. This checks that RS232 is not connected and then proceeds with the SPI firmware metaimage download.

    Thank you
