IWR6843AOP: Temperature measurement

Hi,

IWR6843AOP is getting super heated. I realized to know the temperature we should measure the device junction temperature through temperature sensors. I want to get the Timestamp and Temperature information report for both IWR6843AOP and IWR6843ISK sensors. I see from that there is a function rlRfGetTemperatureReport() from mmwavelink. But do you have an example on how and where to call it and what kind of information does this file generate and where? what is bitmap of the devices? I would be glad to hear from you.

Hi,

For how to call this function, you can look at <mmWave_SDK_loc>\packages\ti\control\mmwavelink\test\common\link_test.c function "mmwaveLink_getTemperatureReport"

Hi Alec,

Thank you for the reply. In the thread link that you shared me it was said that the code was written based on MRR example. what is MRR here? Do you have an example code where Temperature function is being called and also is there a way to even read voltage along with Temperature as the sensor is running? Would really appreciate to hear from you.

Hi,

The MRR example they are referring to is the "Multi Range Radar" demo from the Automotive toolbox, but this should have no impact on this query. If you look at the function that I referenced in my previous response, this should be sufficient for temperature measurements. In terms of voltage measurement, you may need to be a little more specific of what voltage(s) you are trying to read.

Hi Alec,

Thank you for the quick reply. The Voltage we wanted to measure here is the Input voltage where it is converted to 5V to 3.3V while the sensor is running.
