about L3 Memory of AWR1843

I have a question about DSP related to AWR1843.

The total L3 memory of the DSP subsystem was written as 1024 KB, but it is written as static sharing with R4F space and it is 512 KB (half the capacity of L3 memory).

Does this shared part indicate that the DSP side can only use 512 KB?

It may be difficult to understand the question, but please answer it.

Hello Hiroyuki,

If you refer to the Functional Block diagram of AWR1843 device (as shown below), Out of 1024KB of Radar Data Memory, 512KB is dedicated entirely to DSP side and rest 512KB can be shared with the R4F block (if required). In case you do not want that extra memory for R4F, the entire 1024KB can be used by DSP.

Detailed description of this memory partition is explained in the AWR18xx/16xx/14xx/68xx Technical Reference Manual (Rev. E)

Please refer to Section 11.3 DSS_L3 Memory Organization for 18xx in the above document.
