AWR2243: Solution for connecting 4x AWR2243 to TDA4VM

Hi TI experts,

Is there a solution for connecting 4x AWR2243, which results in 4 CSI-2 modules each with 4 lanes, into a TDA4VM, which has only 2x CSI-2 modules ?

I think one possible option is to use TI FDP-Link Serializer and Deserializer. However I think this option is used when one has to connect the AWRs and TDA4VM locating far away from each other over a STP/Coax cable. When both AWRs and TDA4VM are located on the same PCB, this option does not seem to be the best option and also relatively expensive.

So my question is:

- Is there a more cost effective and better suited solution for interfacing 4x AWR2243 to TDA4vm when they are located on the same PCB or close to each other ?

Hello BL,

There are lattice FPGAs that can take in 4 CSI2 lanes and send out only 2 CSI2 lanes. That could be used an alternative.

Hi Ishita,

thanks for the answer. That would be a solution to this problem.
On the other hand I wonder if I can connect 4xMMICs directly to a TDA4VM without deploying additional components, namely interfacing:
- 2xMMICs over CSI-2
- and the other 2xMMICs over LVDS

Hello BL,

LVDS is mainly used a debug interface on AWR2243 and CSI2 as a production interface.

I would recommend taking a look the following Lattice FPGA for your purpose : CSI-2/DSI D-PHY Transmitter - Lattice Semiconductor

This is a 4 to 1 CSI2 aggregator. You could use two of them in 2 to 1 mode.
