Hi team,

I would like to buy IWR6843 or IWR6443 model, which is 60GHz radar. I would like to develop my own solution for traffic monitoring using these radar.
In order to do development, I think that I need to buy extra accessories but, I don't know which one is requried.

Is there any relevant reference design or technical documentation?

Hello,

The IWR6843ISK EVM will be the basic requirement. This has the radar sensor and integrated antenna designed for longer distances. If you plan to perform many code modifications, then I suggest also getting the MMWAVEICBOOST EVM to go along with this. This will provide easy access to debug the device and additional pin breakouts. Please see the EVM User's Guide for more information.

Many thanks for your information. then I will buy both IWR6843ISK EVM and MMWAVEICBOOST EVM for my own testing. I have one quick question. Does this 60GHz reach to detect object by 70 meters from the sensor?

Hello,

Detection distance will depend on many variables in the chirp profile. But yes, 70m detection is possible. Please see the following pages for the traffic monitoring demo, which has some info. Also see the Long Range People Detection lab page, which is very similar and has more details about the detection distance.
