PGA460-Q1: Sensors forum

Part Number: PGA460-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA460

Hello
When using PGA460 with Bistatic, there is no need to consider blind zones and no RDAMP is required.
Is my idea correct?

  • Hello Satoshi,

Thank you for your question. You are correct, the bi-static configuration eliminates blind zone as one transducer is used for the creation of sound waves, whereas the other receives the return signal. Additionally, It is also not necessary to use a damping resistor in the bistatic configuration. This TIPL video linked here: (TIPL Video) includes additional information about the differences between mono-static and bi-static transducer configurations.

Please let me know if you have any questions

    Regards,

    Jacob
