AWR2243BOOST: mmWave_link tool porting to Linux

Hi Ron,

Do you want to port mmwavelink example from mmwave DFP to Linux or just mmwavelink library to Linux environment?

To rebuild the mmwavelink library, we have provided the makefile and Visual studio project file which you can rebuild in Linux

C:\ti\mmwave_dfp_02_02_03_01\ti\control\mmwavelink\vs

C:\ti\mmwave_dfp_02_02_03_01\ti\control\mmwavelink\makefiles

Same way you can rebuild the mmwavelink_example VS code in linux.

for DCA1000 data capture you can rebuild that tool from the source code available here C:\ti\mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\mmWaveStudio\ReferenceCode\DCA1000\SourceCode, refer TI_DCA1000EVM_CLI_Software_DeveloperGuide.pdf from \ReferenceCode\DCA1000\Docs\

I would like to do both mmwavelink library and mmwavelink example.

I have already succeeded to progress some way (including downloading ftd2xx library and WinTypes.h).

I am now having troubles with the mmwavelink example Threads and Critical Section APIs.

For example:

mmwl_port_ftdi.c:(.text+0x17e8): undefined reference to `GetCurrentThreadId'
/usr/bin/ld: mmwl_port_ftdi.c:(.text+0x1830): undefined reference to `CreateThread'
/usr/bin/ld: mmwl_port_ftdi.c:(.text+0x1870): undefined reference to `TerminateThread'
/usr/bin/ld: mmwl_port_ftdi.c:(.text+0x1878): undefined reference to `Sleep'
/usr/bin/ld: mmwl_port_ftdi.c:(.text+0x18a0): undefined reference to `CreateThread'
/usr/bin/ld: mmwl_port_ftdi.c:(.text+0x18c4): undefined reference to `Sleep'

Should I be changing the code ?

Define wrapper? To which functions ?

These all are Win32 APIs which you need to port for Linux environment

I am using mmWaveLink_SingleChip_NonOS_Example

This should have been non OS example - so why using WIN32 APIs or why the need to OS API porting ?

As this FTDI port library is common to all the DFP example to communicate to AWR device over SPI via FTDI chip, so it contains OS components as well.

In case of Non-OS porting to Linux you can comment/remove those WIN32 API and rebuilt.

And from other e2e thread, user has done that porting at his end, it is not being done in the mmWave DFP.
