I am using AWR1843 Boost.
Calculate the velocity and frequency measurement results using FFT processing.

In the application configuration diagram of the SDK, range-FFT, Doppler-FFT, CFAR, and AOA arithmetic processing is performed.

Are these CFAR and AOA absolutely necessary?
If it is not absolutely necessary, please tell me specifically why it is not absolutely necessary.

Yes,

CFAR determines the "power threshold above which any return can be considered to probably originate from a target" as mentioned in this Wikipedia article.

Without CFAR we do not detect any object.

And without AoA we can't compute the angle of detected object

I would like to ask you an additional question, but when using AoA and CFAR,

it seems that objectdetection.c will do all the processing except range-FFT.

Range processing is also performed in

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\datapath\dpc\objectdetection\objdethwa\src\objectdetection.c. The following API is called: DPU_RangeProcHWA_process()
