Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPT9221
We have been using these parts in a camera that is mounted outdoors and are experiencing reduced capture frame rate in some units which appears to be related to elevated temperature. The temperature on the OPT8241 is measured using the "tsensor" call available through the OPT9221 controller. Our measurements show the device to be well below the max value (125C) in "6.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings". We see the issue occurs when the tsensor value is typically between 75 and 80 C. Is the device designed to operate at these temperatures, and if so what is the maximum tsensor value that we should not exceed? More details are available as needed. Our typical expected frame rate is 30 fps, and we have seen the frame rate go to 4fps or lower when the tsensor temp is approaching 80C. The problem does not happen on all units.
