AWR1443BOOST: mmW demo visualizer .dat file versus mmW studio bin file

greetings,

I can now both collection *dat data (later read by python codes) using mmW Demo Visualizer and *.bin file (use inherit Matlab code) using mmW Studio. What is the different between them, it look like *dat file from mmW Visualizer is pretty easy to use, while mmW Studio one is kinda cuber-some.

1. Done *.bin file contain more information than the *.dat one? Cesar

Hi,

The .dat file only contains the results of the raw ADC data that is processed on the EVM. This is mostly the detected point information (x,y,z, velocity)

The bin file contains the raw ADC data. The matlab scripts included in the mmWave studio can be used to process the data to compute the (x,y,z, velocity)

thanks, will the .dat miss any information compare to .bin file. It looks pretty much the same to me.

Hi,

As I mentioned the .bin file includes the raw ADC data. The .dat file will only include processed data.
