IWR6843: Is there any way to adjust its sensing power

Part Number: IWR6843

Hi, support team

My customer has the questions as follow:

We are using TI's IWR6843 for indoor people counting.
The problem is the radar occassionally detects or sends out point cloud of moving targets even there is actually no moving thing in the room or detects more than one person when there is just one.
Judging from the experimental results, we find the radar might be so sensitive that it considers those reflection signals as moving objects.
Is there any way to adjust its sensing power by changing its cfg files or what are the parameters that determine the performance?

Thanks so much.

Best regards,
Yuki

  • Hi, Yuki

Have you read C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_8_0\labs\people_counting\docs\3D_people_counting_tracker_layer_tuning_guide.pdf?  I think you can find how to tune the parameters for better performance in Chapter 4.
