AWR2243: The doubt about the document zhcu682a< Imaging Radar Using Cascaded mmWave Sensor-01012>

Part Number: AWR2243

Hi all

When i read about the document of < Imaging Radar Using Cascaded mmWave Sensor-01012>, i have some questions

1、In the table as below, Does it is error for the frame length of MRR? (128*27us =3.456ms but not 4.4 ms )

2、 i read from the document that the distance of MRR is 150m and the max of velocity is + -130km/h

But as my calculation, this is just for one TX antenna . Does it is right?

if i want to use 9 Tx MIMO because of angle resolution, and the max of velocity will decrease to 14.45km/h

Does it is right?

Thanks

  • Hi Liu,

    1. The actual inter chirp time needs to be considered, for the mentioned profile. Please refer RAMP time calculator in mmWave studio for a fair/actual use case idea.

    2. The distance listed is for the cascade configuration of 4 devices in MIMO mode. I would request to please go through the below document to have more information on MIMO as to how in cascade configuration with more TX's and RX's(creating a virtual array of no of TX  * No of RX antennas) very high resolution(MIMO-angular and TXBF-long range) is achieved. I believe this will also answer both of your questions in detail.
