AWR1843BOOST: LMS3635AQRNLRQ1 can be used instead of LM53635?

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST

Hi team,

I'm designing custom board by referring AWR1843BOOST schematic.

I can see LMS36x5 (U8) in PROC051D(001)_Sch.PDF attached. On the other hand I also see LM53635 BUCK in the COVER SHEET. It looks difficult to purchase LM53635 due to the parts shortage.
So I have a question,

Can I use LMS3635AQRNLRQ1 with the same schematic shown in PROC051D(001)_Sch.PDF?

Regards,

Shige

  • Hello Shige,

Yes, you could use that part. You just need to make sure to set the correct output voltage.

One consideration is that this part does not have spread spectrum. I would recommend to use one of the parts with spread spectrum in case you need to enable this to bring down emissions and reduce the coupling of the 2.1MHz switching spur to the radar.

  • Hello Adrian,

According to your advice, I reconsider the two points which are the correct output voltage(3.3V) and spread spectrum capability.
When I have a look on the datasheet, I think it's better to choose LMS3635NQRNLTQ1(Surrounded in red) than the one (Surrounded in gray).

    Is my approach correct?

  • Hello Shige,

Sorry for the delay. I agree that it is best to use the parts highlighted in red. Fixed voltage is also preferred so that you do not accidentally configure the regulator for the wrong output voltage.
