PGA460: Get PC date & time

Hi,

I am using MSP-EXP430F5529LP + BOOSTXL-PGA460 with PGA460 chip set for Ultrasonic sensor. I need to get date and time from PC and store to EEPORM on PGA460. I've researched this in few days but didn't find reference source and library how to get the time information. I have question below :

What code should i write (which will get executed on Energia) to read current date and time from the PC?
What do i need to do on the PC to send the current date and time to Energia?

Hi Kwok,

I will move this question to the MSP forum for a response from our software specialists on how to read the date and time with the MSP430 and Energia.

Once you have the date and time, you can store it in any of the USER_DATA1-USER_DATA20 registers on the PGA460.

For more detail : The date and time it would have format and store to USER_DATE15 to USER_DATE18 as below.

Hi Kwok,

I can't find any Energia reference libraries that address your exact use case. There are some posts on the Arduino forums that are doing something similar though [link], and you should be able to port those libraries over to Energia (refer to forum.43oh.com/.../ for guidance).

Alternatively, you can try using the RTC module instead, and there are several Energia libraries for that (link1, link2, link3).
