AWR1843: Sensorstrat Command

Part Number: AWR1843

Hi Team, seeking for your assistance.

Would like to use the AWR1843 boost Radar device to send frames after receiving a digital signal on SYNC_IN pin.

As per mmwave user guide, the hardware trigger select feature is not supported. But I tried to set the trigger select option 2(which is hardwaretrigger type). With this they need to send sensorStart command and then a trigger pulse in order to transmit a frame. In order to transmit another frame, They need to send 'sensorStart' command again and then a digital signal on SYNC_IN pin.

My question is:

1. As per my understanding, 'sensorStart' command actually does software trigger that sends the frame according to the configuration. But if they want to use hardware trigger option, Do they need to send 'sensorStart' command?

2. According to thei understanding if they use hardwaretrigger option by sending digital signal on to SYNC_IN pin, they don't need to send the 'sensorStart' command to transmit the frame. If they send, a digital signal to the SYNC_PIN is suffcient. Are they right here?

Thank you very much.

  • Hi,

One will only need to send one sensorStart command. If the sensor is configured in hardware trigger mode, a frame will be started only when the trigger pulse is active
