DCA1000EVM: Using IWR1443BOOST with DCA1000EVM

Part Number: DCA1000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443BOOST,

Hi Team,

May I ask for help? Our customer have a concern. He is using IWR1443BOOST with DCA1000EVM.
He wants to use a case project 14XX_Vital_Signs from CCS. DCA1000EVM was used to obtain the original data and the waveform of heart rate and respiration obtained by the case engineering.

1.) He wants to use a Lab project, Vital Signs Lab, on CCS Resource Explorer, and get raw data with DCA1000EVM, May we ask how can he do that?

2.) How many minutes can IWR1443BOOST with DCA1000EVM last? Working state

I hope you can help us with our customer concern. Thank you so much.

Kind regards,
Gerald

  • Hello

    For 1)

In order to collect RAW data that matches any lab/Demo user's can setup TI's mmWave EVM + Data Capture Solution and Configure the mmWave device/EVM to match the lab/Demo's RF Chirp Configuration and data matching that configuration will be sent over the HSI interface to the Capture solution.

For this specific case the  equivalent would be :

In order to collect RAW data that matches any 14XX_Vital_Signs Lab  user's can setup xWR1443xboost EVM + DCA1000  and Configure the mmWave device/EVM to match the 4XX_Vital_Signs Lab RF Chirp Configuration and data matching that configuration will be sent over the HSI interface to the DCA1000.

CCS is typically used for embedded coding and would not have to come in picture for this. Please follow the Data capture setup guide for Raw data capture.

    For 2)

Data from the capture solution is streamed over ethernet port to the host PC.  This data is available in files which are stored in chunks of 1GB and once the file size is reached a new file will be created.  This should allow you to collect continuous data without the limitations on time.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav

  • Hi Vaibhav,

Thank you for your last response. My customer said that the response for his first concern was said in a general way and is asking if you can further elaborate? In addition, I would like to confirm if the Data capture setup guide for Raw data capture is pertaining to this link below:

    https://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra581b/swra581b.pdf?ts=1634558451391&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F

If not, please share the correct file here. We will wait for your advise. Thank you so much.

    Kind regards,
    Gerald

  • Hi Vaibhav,

I still received further additional details from our customer as shown below:
"I hope to get detailed configuration steps, because I am unfamiliar with TI products for the first time, so I hope to get detailed configuration steps.
I would like to add that I have two purposes. The first is to use IWR1443BOOST+DCA1000EVM to measure the distance. The duration of a measurement is about one hour, and the measurement can be repeated and the collected data can be saved in PC.
The second goal is more demanding. I want to run a case project in the CCS Resource Explorer, Vital Signs Lab, using IWR1443BOOST+DCA1000EVM, and get the data collected from running the project. This data should include raw data i.e. unprocessed data respiration and heartbeat data that has been processed by the Vital Signs Lab.
So that's my goal. Thank you."

    Kind regards,
    Gerald

  • Hello

It would be good to understand what resources and collateral has the user been pointed to or has accessed so far.

1.a) Steps for Collecting Raw Data  are clearly highlighted in DCA1000 and mmWave studio guide

Has user accessed and followed the TI EVM + mmWave studio UG and/or  Training.ti.com steps for DCA1000 steps.  THis would be necessary step befor going to step #2

1.b)  This is same as step #1.a  with Vital signs chirp configuration  during data capture.

The so called second goal of  studio _ vital signs requires code modification and user's would have to do that based on the need.  We would recommend getting through steps 1.a and 1.b before discuss this.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav

  • Hi,
