MMWAVE-STUDIO: About changing the output during measurement

Part Number: MMWAVE-STUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843

To contstream of mmwave studio
There was o / p Pwr Backoff TX0.
Is it possible to adjust the output of the RX antenna during measurement by operating this?

Is it possible to make individual adjustments if possible?

  • Hello ,

To make  changes in the front end configuration during the ContStream mode you need to stop the Continuous transmission and then make the changes. It cannot be made during the transmission.

    Regards,
    Vivek

  • thank you for your reply.
It is okay that you can operate the output of the RX antenna by operating this.

  • Please tell me how to operate Continuous Streaming Tab
I didn't understand even after reading the user guide.

  • Hello Yousuke,

There are simple configurations in the Continuous streaming mode.

    1) In the stream config you set the desired RF frequency of CW tone , ADC sampling , RX gain setting, HPF filter configurations etc.

    2) The you enable the continuous stream using the Stream enable.

    3) You then configure the capture card configurations, like the number of samples to capture, windowing functions to apply etc. This is done in the "Basic configuration" section.

    4)  Then you start the capture using the capture button and then stop the capture. Once the capture is complete you can click on display to view the post processed plots.

    Vivek

  • Which radar device EVM are you using  ? I assume you have the DCA1000 capture card to capture the ADC data.

    Regards,
    Vivek

  • Yes, I am using DCA1000.
    The EVM is AWR1843 Boost.

Is there a tab that I have set in advance to use the tab I asked?

  • Hello Yousuke,

Let me outline the sequence below, the details are available in the user guide.

    1) First you need to complete the connection and firmware download in the Connection tab.

    2) Next in the Static config tab set the desired channel config and ADC config. For 1843BOOST you need to set the RF LDO bypass enable and PA LDO disable bits at 1 (check). Set the ADC mode and then initiate RfInit.

    3) Next in the DataConfig tab select the desired data path config, clk config and LVDS config. Typically the default values are fine.

    4)  Now go to the Cont stream tab and set the settings discussed in the above thread. Before you capture click on Setup DCA1000 to connect to DCA1000 and configure it.

    Regards,
    Vivek
