FDC1004: VISA Read error in LabView VI for FDC1004 4-Channel Capacitance-to-Digital Converter

Part Number: FDC1004

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I recently bought the FDC1004 4-Channel Capacitance-to-Digital Converter with the corresponding Evaulation Module and I would like to control it with LabView. I have tried to use the LabView VIs from the forum thread, which your colleagues recommended to me :

https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors-group/sensors/f/sensors-forum/585599/fdc1004qevm-labview-2010-interface-for-fdc1004evm-fdc1004qevm-and-fdc2214evm

Unfortunately, I get the following error code on the VISA Read VI for each of the programmes: -1073807339

So unfortunately I cannot read out the sensor with LabView. Are you aware that with these VIs an error can occur with the VISA read subVI or do you have a guess as to what I could do differently?

I would be very grateful for any help!

Best regards

Lars

  • Hello Lars,

I think that error code has to do with the USB connection but I am not certain. You could try checking the driver install to see if that is the problem. The VIs that we have provided in the past are not something that we have kept updated. If there are any issues with them, it would be best to go through the LabView support or the NI support forum to resolve them.

  • Hello Justin,

thank you very much for your quick reply! The programme I downloaded from the TI website works without any problems. That's why I actually thought that everything should be fine with the drivers and the USB connection. But I will follow your advice and contact NI support.

Thank you again and best regards,

    Lars
