DCA1000EVM: mmWave Studio

Part Number: DCA1000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443

Hi,

I got a DCA1000 board and I connect it with IWR1443 radar. I did everything follow the video course online. Now I am stuck here (FIG1). When I click the connect, reset and Configure, there is no FPGA version. It should be like fig2. How can I solve this?

Furthermore, I set the Ethernet ID of IPV4 as 192 168 33 30 (fig3) but there is no network access (fig4). How can I solve this? Or this is normal and the Ethernet is connected? How can I know that the Ethernet is connected correctly?

Also, based on the handbook, shown in fig5, we should Select the Dump file pathname. Which file pathname should I choose? Initially, I try to select a folder but it is not allowed. If I should select a file, which file or what kind of file should I select?

Thank,

Wu

  • Hello Jiacheng,

Welcome to TI E2E forums and thankyou for the detailed explanation.

As you mentioned, the correct FPGA version is not displaying when you press "Connect, reset and configure", which is not right. What is the error message you're getting in the output of studio when you press this button?

This usually happens if there are ethernet issue or if the correct FPGA firmware is not flashed. I would request you to consult the DCA1000 debugging handbook for this purpose.

Sometimes the firewall blocks the ethernet ports or the WIFI or your local ethernet connection can also prevent DCA1000 connection to PC. Please disable that and try again.

    Let us know your insights.

    Regards,

    Ishita
