HDC2022EVM: Not recognized on PC

I have two HDC2022EVM boards and can not connect to either of them using the online GUI or the old sensing solutions tool. I've followed the instructions and tried on 3 PCs. Windows 10 reports that it is setting up the drivers and was successful. The blue LED on the board illuminates briefly when it is plugged in, but nothing after that. I can't think of anything else I can do to better isolate the problem. Anyone have advice?

There are some other posts in the forums where the same board did not work as expected. The thread reads like the boards were identified as defective and replaced. My fear is that would involve our shipping or purchasing group, and they are not quick. If there's a way to rework / reflash the boards I want to try that first.

Thanks for the post and welcome to E2E.

The HDC2022 EVM GUI is not leveraging the Sensing Solutions tool (as the previous versions of the HDC family of the devices EVMs do).

Would you please confirm that you have checked out: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sniu039/sniu039.pdf , page 6, and this does not solve the issue? - looking forward to your reply.

I followed that document when I tried using the GUI. I posted because it didn't work. I'm open to any other ideas.

Hi. My original description is that I have tried 2 EVMs each on 3 PCs. So, yes, I have tried that.

Hi Eric,

I apologize for the late reply, but have you tried updating the firmware on the EVM? You can find steps on how to update the firmware on page 17 of the EVM User Guide.

I see you might be in the same state as us - if we send you a LaunchPad, would you be willing to use it or could we help you out with a replacement EVM (that we will check here before shipping)?

Hi Eric,

Can you try forcing the USB BSL mode by tying the PUR pin high during USB plug-in.

I recommend attaching a 100ohm (or similar) resistor to R10 and C7. After flash is complete, you must disconnect one end of the resistor or remove it entirely. The 100ohm resistor is shown in https://www.ti.com/lit/slaa457 Figure 8 as part of an optional BSL button.

Hi Josh,

All I'm after is a working EVM, without reprogramming or attaching resistors, so I can literally start evaluating the sensor. If you can make that happen I will be very grateful.
