Hello,
Can you try to perform a firmware update on the faulty board by going through the Sensing Solutions EVM GUI? Additional instructions on updating the firmware are in the EVM user's guide section 1.2.9.
Also, how does the EVM show in the PC's device manager?
Thank you,
Justin Beigel
Hello Justin,
i try Firmware update on Faulty LDC1000EVM. No Action. Herr are pictures from device Manager.
Hello,
You may have to reinstall the driver for that EVM. You can do this by reinstalling the GUI as administrator or just uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. More information on that can be found in the following E2E post: https://e2e.ti.com/support/data-converters-group/data-converters/f/data-converters-forum/716036/ldc1000evm-msp430-usb-driver-unknown

Hello Frank,
Sorry you are still having issues. Can you confirm if the non-working EVM is still showing as "MSP430-USB Example"?
Thank you,
Justin Beigel
Hello Justin,
same message like before. The Otter ldc1000evm work on Same pc without and Problem.
regards Frank
Hello Frank,
If the EVM is still showing the "MSP430-USB Example" prompt for the driver, then the USB driver didn't successfully change with the SW reinstall. Try manually changing the driver by going through the device manager. The EVM driver is located in path C:\ti\Sensing Solutions EVM GUI-(version #)\EVM Driver by default. Where (version #) is replaced with the version number of the sensing solution GUI. Version 1.10.0 is the most current version. The driver name is evm.inf.

Hello Justin,
i install the whole Software Package a few times new. Nothing changed.
One LDC1000EVM work. Second LDC1000EVM don‘t work.
Regards Frank
Hello Frank,
You could try re-flashing the EVM by putting it into BSL mode and flashing it through the Python firmware upgrader. Here are some more detailed instructions for that:
If this is not the case, ensure that the device is in BSL mode (no LEDs will be on) and click File -> Rescan HID Bus
At this point, the EVM should be recognized by the Sensing Solutions GUI and connect properly. Between reflashing the EVM and manually updating the USB driver, the issue should be resolved. If you still have issues, it is possible that the board is damaged.
