AWR2243BOOST: WARMRST LED and possible hardware failure

Part Number: AWR2243BOOST

So I made a massive mistake and shorted the 5V pin to one of the other pins on the 60 pin connector. The board got really hot and something burnt out. I immediately unplugged the power supply and let the board cool down. Upon plugging the board back I noticed the NRST led no longer lights up with the 5v power supply led. Also the WARMRST light will start to glow red a little after power is supplied to the board. However when running the control sequence with my external MCU (like the single chip example) the board is brought out of reset and runs through all of the power on/configurations/power off with success. The exception being the rlRXGainPhaseMonConf which fails with an invalid rfFreqBitMask value of 8.

I realize I messed up big time but I would like to know what the WARMRST light means so that I can get a better understanding of the current state of my board. Thanks for any info.

  • Hello Jordan,

If the warmrst pin is driven low the LED will glow. Also since the nRst LED is not glowing I suspect there might be some damage on the 3.3V IO power rail section . Unfortunately I think you might need to order a new EVM.

    Regards,
