AWR1843AOPEVM: Data Delay Time

Part Number: AWR1843AOPEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843AOP, DCA1000EVM,

Regarding the AWR1843AOP, if we use the beam steering to check the extremes of +60° and -60°, can you comment on how fast or long this would take to get the information and what the delay is between when the readings are taken and when they are reported?

We are planning to use the AWR1843AOPEVM and DCA1000EVM.

  • Hello Chris,

Typically in AWR1843AOP the radar measurement data will be processing by your application running within the AWR device. The data for each chirp will be available at the end of  that chirp . For example if you have chirps that are 40usec long, the data measured in that chirp would be available at the end of that 40usec chirp. The time taken to process that data would depend on your application and what algorithms you run on that data.

DCA1000 is used only for offline data collection on the PC and analyses. There is no strict timing as such between the point of measurement and the point in time of the data getting saved in the PC using DCA1000.

    Regards,

    Vivek
