Hi Texas instruments,

I am a big fan of FDC2214 and FDC1004. I wonder if it is possible to reduce the footprint of the board.

I’m looking into fabricating my own fdc214 board but am just wondering if these components and schematics are fine. Really don’t want to put this into fabrication only for it to fail especially given the chip shortage and shipping delays. Could you verify if this is ok? I got the BOM from your technical notes.

Hello,

Your schematic and components look fine. For the layout, it would be better to adjust so that the L and C are in the trace path to the connector the same way they show on the schematic. Having them the way you currently do puts the L and C at the end of a stub and is not recommended. Also, I would not recommend running the trace through a capacitor like you have done on C7. It probably won't make a huge difference, but to reduce any possible cross-talk between the sensor channels, it would be best to route it around the capacitor.
