Hello Wang,
Sorry for the delay due to holidays.
What is the mmWave sensor you're using in this context? Can you also send a picture of your device manager window and your hardware setup?

Ishita
Hello Ishita Kochar,
Thanks for reply.
What is the mmWave sensor you're using in this context?
AWR1843 Evaluation Module
Hello Wang,
Thankyou for the information. I can see the 2 COM ports that come up when a USB is connected to the AWR device.
I was wondering if you're seeing 4 additional COM ports when you connect the USB cable to the DCA1000 board , port RADAR_FTDI (since this is not a part of your screenshot).
Sometimes it comes up as "other devices" or just "USB serial port" if the DCA1000 is connected for the first time. You would need to update the FTDI drivers in that case. For details, please refer to section 2.3 USB Interface and Drivers in mmWave_studio_user_guide.pdf
Let us know if you your insights on this after your trial.
Regards,
Ishita
Hello Wang,
Is the board powering up fine? Are you able to see the corresponding LEDs glow?
Is this the first time you're using the DCA1000 board or has this been previously used to capture data?
Please also take a look at the DCA1000 debugging handbook and try some of the debug methods available.

Hello Ishita,
The board is power up fine with LEDs glow.
It's not our first time we use DCA1000. Another DAC1000 can capture data normally, but this one just can't be connect to PC even with same PC.
Also, temperature of this DCA1000 is externally high after power up.
May I ask you to change another DCA1000 board for us?
Hello Wang,
Thankyou for the information.
Can you also send a picture of the board for me to have a visual inspection (the picture you attached above is a bit blur)
Also, what is the specification of the power supply used by you in case of the defected board? Are you supplying power through an individual adapter or is it taking from the AWR mmWave board?
Regards,
Ishita
hello
we try individual adapter and taking from AWR board both, it just doesn't work.
Hello Wang,
What is the specification of the power supply used by you in case of the defected board? Did you use a higher voltage (>5V) supply here?
If you take only the DCA1000 board and just powerup it up with a 5V supply, how much current is it consuming? It typically takes <0.7A.
Regards,
Ishita
Hello
we use DC power supply V = 5v/2A, taking from AWR EVB.
Again with same DC power supply and same PC environment, one DCA1000 works well, another doesn't work.
Hello Wang,
How much current is the DCA1000 consuming when you power up the board?
Regards,
Ishita
